Permission forms for the March 11 Leadership Conference at the Harbison campus are due by February 28. Printed copies are available in the office. ALL students are expected to attend.
MMC School IDs
Any student who needs an MMC school ID may do so on Wednesday, February 19 (10:00-11:00 or 12:30-1:30) or on Thursday, February 20 (12:00-1:00 or 3:00-4:00). This is completely optional but highly encouraged. Students must bring a driver’s license, photo ID, or original birth certificate in order to get a school ID.
Students who signed up to take the ACT will do so next week, on Tuesday, February 25. Testing will begin at 9:00 and last until approximately 1:00.
Students who took the ASVAB career assessment last week will receive their results next Thursday, February 27, during 1st Block. We will have experts here to help students interpret their results and learn how to use them in making future plans.
Senior Day at Midlands Tech
All seniors are encouraged to participate in Senior Day at MTC on Friday, February 28, from 9:00 to 12:30. See Mrs. Epps for more details.
Each year, we put together a senior presentation to show at graduation and on our social media. We encourage ALL seniors to submit a baby photo to be included. Check out last year’s Class of 2019 Presentation to see what the final product will look like!
Vickie Lovett with Pretty Pictures Photography will be on campus Tuesday, March 10, from 1:00 to 5:00 to take “cap & gown” portraits of ALL our seniors. You will have the option to purchase photos, but are not required to do so. We want a great photo of everyone to include in the yearbook, so please come looking your best that day!
There is still time to schedule a private session with the photographer if you want the full experience – cap & gown, drape/tux, etc. Contact her at 803-739-2275 to schedule your session. If you schedule a private session, you will NOT have your picture taken on March 10th.
Prom Tickets & Planning Committee
Prom tickets are on sale NOW, through March 20. Students have received a list of prom expectations and permission forms for guests who do not attend MMC. Tickets to the event are only $10 each.
Are you a parent interested in helping the planning committee make this a memorable event? Please attend the next parent meeting on Thursday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m.
Attire for Prom
Are you looking for something to wear to the prom? Two midlands organizations offer gently-used prom dresses and/or tuxedos to students (WITH A SCHOOL ID – GET YOURS THIS WEEK!)
The Cinderella Project (dresses only) will be March 7, 8:00-11:00, at Brookland Baptist Church.
Project Prom (dresses and tuxes) will be two weekends in March – check the link for exact dates and times.
Both of these events are also looking for items to be donated. Please contact them directly if you have formal wear in your closet you no longer need!
