Leadership Transition for 2021-2022
After five years serving the students of Midlands Middle College, Mrs. Girolamo has decided to pursue other opportunities and will not be returning as Principal next school year. The MMC Board of Directors conducted a search and has selected our current Assistant Principal, Dr. Laurie Lee, to be promoted to Principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Dr. Lee is thrilled to continue working alongside the faculty and staff of the Middle College as we grow and support our students in pursuit of their high school diploma and prepare them for their academic and professional futures.

WIN Ready to Work (R2W) Testing
All third-year high school students are REQUIRED to participate in the state-mandated WIN Ready to Work (R2W) Assessment. This test measures a student’s career readiness in both academic achievement and soft skills. MMC students will take the test on Friday, March 12. All third-year (11th grade) students, including in-person and virtual learners, are expected to participate and should arrive by 8:45 a.m. More details will be sent via email early next week. If you have questions, please contact Dr. Lee

Dual Enrollment Interest Meeting
For any student (not a current dual enrollment student) who is interested in taking dual enrollment courses starting in the fall 21 semester, we will have an interest meeting on March 3rd and the 4th at 10:30. It will be required and will take place in the computer lab by the front office. Please submit this form if you plan to attend.

Future ASVAB Test
Most of our students took the ASVAB test back in October. If you missed that opportunity and would like to take it this spring, please reach out to Mr. Whatley as soon as possible. This test is a great opportunity to learn how your abilities and interests fit with certain careers. Especially if you are not sure exactly what you want to do after graduation, you don’t want to miss this! While the ASVAB is administered by military recruiters, the results you receive can relate to many careers outside of the military.

Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Ashley Cooper, the MMC 2021 Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Cooper has been teaching mathematics at MMC since 2008. She consistently provides a nurturing, caring, and informative presence for each and every student she teaches. She has taken it upon herself this year to further her knowledge of teaching in the digital world. We are proud of you, Mrs. Cooper!
