If you are planning ahead for the spring, our yearlong assessment schedule can be found under the Resources tab of our website or by visiting this link.

The fall semester will end in just a few weeks, and students must be caught up on their attendance in order to receive credit for their current classes. We have only FOUR more Friday PLT sessions this semester. Students who are struggling with attendance are encouraged to join our small group discussion each Friday at 2:30. See  Mrs. Girolamo, Mrs. Epps, or Mr. Whatley for details. Parents who have any questions about attendance should reach out to their child’s Advisor, or review our attendance policy in the handbook.

Course Requests for Spring Semester
Students now have access (through Google Classroom) to request courses for the spring semester. Students are encouraged to submit this right away, but they may make changes up through Tuesday, November 26. In developing the school-wide schedule, student preferences will be considered, along with what courses are needed for graduation. First priority will be given to graduating Seniors and to students who need to schedule around college classes. Spring schedules will be available to students before Winter Break.

Individual Graduation Plan Meetings
Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) meetings are needed for all students. Parents are encouraged to attend. If your child has not had an IGP meeting yet, please email Ms. Epps, School Counselor, to schedule one as soon as possible.

Prom Fundraisers
We have a small but dedicated group of students and parents working to plan a fabulous prom experience for our students in April. In order to keep ticket prices low, we will be conducting fundraisers throughout the year. Every Wednesday, we are selling a Chick-Fil-A sandwich and bottle of water for $5. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Please encourage your student to participate! If you are interested in helping to plan the prom and/or fundraisers, please contact Laurie Lee at

Habitat for Humanity
Our Interact Club is organizing a service day with Habitat for Humanity. On Friday, November 22, we will be participating in “Keisha’s Build” in Columbia, from 11:30 to 4:00 PM. Our role will be painting the interior of the home. Any student interested in participating should see Mrs. Girolamo for a permission form.

“Teen Toy” Drive for Happy Wheels
Happy Wheels is a local nonprofit that provides books and toys to patients in the local children’s hospital. One of their greatest areas of need is toys for the teenage patients. The MMC Interact Club will be collecting donations up until Winter Break. Suggested items include puzzles, over-the-door basketball hoops, board games, card games, lego sets, craft sets, etc. Due to health concerns, the hospital requires all items to be new, not used. Please consider purchasing an item to brighten the day of a hospitalized teenager in our community!
