Learning Models – Spring 2021
YOUR INPUT NEEDED
We are nearly halfway through the Fall semester and are beginning to make plans for the Spring. Students and parents, we need YOUR input on the learning model options that will be available next semester. Please respond to this brief survey by Friday, October 23. Our intent is to finalize plans for the spring by early December.
WIN Testing Reminder
All students in their FOURTH YEAR of high school are reminded that the WIN Ready to Work Assessment is required. This will be administered on Friday, October 30. Students should arrive at 9:00. Again, all fourth-year students are expected to participate, including Cohort A, Cohort B, everyday students, and our fully-virtual students.
Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop
On Wednesday, October 21, the Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop will be visiting our campus. This is an “A-Day” and all students present will have an opportunity to visit the workshop. Any student who normally attends only on “B-Days” but would like to participate in the workshop, we would love to have you! Please check in with Mr. Whatley to let him know you’re interested. Visit this website to learn more about this opportunity.
MMC Board of Directors Nominations
The MMC Board of Directors consists of nine members, five of whom shall be elected by the employees of MMC and by the parents or guardians of students enrolled in the school. At least five of the nine Board members shall be individuals who have a background in K-12 education or in business. All Board members must be residents of the State of South Carolina.
The MMC Board has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, signing the charter school contract and ensuring compliance with SC Charter School laws, approving the annual budget, setting policy for employment of teachers and non-teaching employees, contracting for other services, developing pay scales and performance criteria and discharging policies for the charter school employees.
To nominate yourself or another individual to serve on the MMC Board of Directors, complete this Nomination Form and return it to the school by 5:00 p.m. on October 30, 2020.
Congressman Joe Wilson Visit to MMC
On Wednesday, October 21, United States Congressman Joe Wilson will be visiting our school. This is an opportunity for us to advocate for charter schools, and we have nominated several student ambassadors to share their personal message about what MMC has meant for them. We hope the conversation will have a positive impact on the educational experience here and for all charter schools in SC.
January Graduation Application
Any senior who is planning to graduate this January should complete and submit this Early Graduation Application. If all requirements are met, your last day of school will be January 15. Mid-year diplomas should be available for pickup in February.
Our photographer has added an additional date for individual portrait sessions. Use this link to sign up for Wednesday, October 28, or Tuesday, November 10.
