October 31 Announcements

What a great week we had at MMC last week!!!  I hope students are beginning to get excited about their post-secondary plans.  I encourage you all to reach out to our counselors to discuss your future plans and how we can help you.  Let me start this week’s announcements by addressing the fact that Halloween is tomorrow….

Halloween

Students may wear costumes to school tomorrow as long as they are 1) school appropriate and 2) faces are not covered.  There are to be no references to drugs, alcohol, gangs, or weapons.  Students may not bring props that are weapons.  Faces MUST seen.  Students who do not adhere to these expectations will be asked to change or sent home.

Cap & Gown Orders

Jostens orders should be placed by close of business tomorrow (10/31).  This is especially for students ordering packages with Senior items.  A minimum downpayment of $60 must be made tomorrow to receive Senior items on Nov. 7th.

Students MUST purchase the cap, gown, tassel and diploma cover package at a minimum.  This package is $50 if ordered now.  The cost does increase after this early order period.  This package can be found under the regalia tab after entering the senior section of the website.  If you have any questions about ordering caps & gowns, please reach out to Dr. Lee.

Exciting News Coming!!!

Be on the lookout….MMC has a new website coming!!!  We have been working hard to update and improve our school website.  We are almost ready to go live!  Keep an eye out for this exciting new marketing tool.

Seat Time Recovery

Several students have taken advantage of the provided seat time recovery opportunities.  We are quickly closing in on the end of the semester and the opportunities to recover seat time are dwindling.  If you (your student) is in danger of failing a course due to absences, you MUST arrange to be at the remaining opportunities.  If you have questions about seat time, please reach out to Dr. Lee.

Upcoming opportunities are:

  • Wednesday nights with Empowered to WIN Teen Nights from 6-8:30 pm
  • November 2, 9, & 30
  • December 7 & 14
  • Saturday, November 19 at Kinley Creek in Irmo (details to come)
